The 6th Personalized Medicine World Conference (PMWC) is heading to Herzlyia, Israel on June 30. Speakers presenting include major companies including Oracle Health Sciences, Genomic Health, Anderson Cancer Center, Abbott Molecular and GE Healthcare.

Opko Health acquires Israeli Prolor Biotech for $480mThe company's lead product is a longer-lasting human growth hormone. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) chairman Dr. Phillip Frost is also chairman and CEO of Opko Health and a major shareholder in Prolor.
 
Sony Corporation has invested $10 million in Rainbow Medical, an Israeli investment group and developer of medical device companies. Previous investors in Rainbow Medical include Medtronic Inc. (NYSE: MDT), Abbott Laboratories Inc. (NYSE: ABT), and Italy’s Sorin.
 
Obama's Personal Science Advisor to Speak at IATI-Biomed Israel 2013. Dr. Eric S. Lander, one of the Human Genome Project leaders and the personal science advisor of US President Barack Omama, will be a keynote speaker at IATI-Biomed Israel 2013 Conference in Tel Aviv. Among the other speakers at the Conference are: Dr. Jeremy Levin, Teva's CEO; Philippe Goupit, VP Corporate at Sanofi; Pat Mackin, Senior VP at Medtronic, Gwen A. Melincoff, Senior VP at Shire Pharmaceutical; Graeme Martin, President and CEO of Takeda Ventures; and many others. 6,000 visitors from 40 countries are expected at the conference that will open, for the 12th year, at 10-12 June 2013.
 
A seminar about the Role of Clinical QP (Qualified Pharmacist) was held on May 23rd at Machon Ayalon in Rehevot. The seminar discussed the role of the QP during the process of production and import of experimental medical products in Israel. The seminar was organized by CTrials and sponsored by inPACK – Clinical Supply Management (Hebrew).
